Our Story
Hansen Furniture, founded in 2017 by Leo Hansen. Originally from Connecticut, now relocated to Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Leo uses both solid wood and veneer techniques in constructing furniture that is expertly handcrafted. Leo works directly with homeowners, designers, architects and business owners to create beautiful one-of-a-kind luxury furniture using ethically sourced natural materials and non-toxic finishes that perfectly fit to your aesthetic.
Originally, Leo has a background in construction. Building custom homes in Connecticut, he excelled in all areas from framing homes to the architectural millwork. The finish carpentry jobs inspired a curiosity about custom cabinetry and custom furniture. Just as many others in this craft, Leo slowly started making furniture out of his garage in Connecticut for friends and family when he could, while still continuing to work full time in construction. He started with simple tables and benches and found that the work captivated him. Leo would go on to work and learn at a cabinet shop making custom cabinetry, furniture and mill work while also attending the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking to hone his skills as a furniture maker before finally diving in and founding Hansen Furniture in 2017.
